New Online Issue Reporting System and Webinar Series Announced
The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), the leading authority on the use of Health IT to improve the exchange of healthcare information, today announced its collaboration with other industry and government entities to support the healthcare industry’s upgrade to ASC X12 5010. This support will take the form of a multi-tiered campaign to gather feedback, track challenges, identify and address the root causes of outstanding ASC X12 5010-implementation related issues especially among commercial payers.
The campaign includes the launch of the online WEDI 5010 Issue Reporting System and a series of free live webcasts. The first webcast in the series is set for April 19, 2012 from 1:00 to 2:30 PM Eastern time. WEDI, in collaboration with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and other industry representatives, will analyze submitted issues and work to identify appropriate solutions. This webinar will provide an overview of the online reporting system and how you can submit issues. Attendees will hear from CMS and WEDI representatives on a variety of issues, including ERA, PO Box, Acknowledgements, and ‘Other Classified’ issues. Following the presentations, there will be a Q&A session.
The online WEDI 5010 Issue Reporting System, located at www.wedionline.org
, allows all affected parties, including providers, payers, clearinghouses, and vendors, to easily submit their issues associated with implementing ASC X12 5010, and search through a database of current documented problems. This web-based system offers an easy-to-use interface with multiple sorting categories and sub-categories, including the option to view previously submitted issues and responses to those posted issues.
“We are excited to work with these partners to demonstrate how private industry and government can work together to solve critical industry issues,” said Devin Jopp, Ed.D., WEDI President & CEO. “By leveraging the new online issue reporting tool and webcasts, our goal is to enhance communications between all stakeholders and to share our common issues and solutions.”
