| WEDI Recommended NPI Transition Plan for the Contingency Period |
Description: The purpose of this document is to provide basic principles, guidance, milestones and conditions to the health care industry for a coordinated, progressive and orderly NPI Transition Plan to use during the time that the CMS Contingency Guidance is in effect. This document also provides a general template for industry use (see attachment below), containing key elements to include in an organization’s contingency plan. Organizations are encouraged to use this template in delineating their contingency plans and follow the guidance and recommendations provided in this document.
