WEDI Survey Aims to Measure Healthcare Industry Response To Health and Human Services’ Request for Information

April 01, 2013

RESTON, VA, April 1, 2013 – WEDI, the leading authority on the use of Health IT to improve the exchange of healthcare information announced today the distribution of an industry-wide survey related to the recently released Request for Information (RFI) on Advancing Interoperability and Health Information Exchange.  The RFI, developed by the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS),   seeks public input in an effort to accelerate growth in electronic health information exchange between healthcare entities to advance health information exchange and data interoperability.

In order to further accelerate and advance interoperability and health information exchange beyond what is currently being done through ONC programs and the EHR Incentive Program, HHS is considering a number of policy levers using existing authorities and programs.  WEDI’s 12-question survey serves as a means to measure the healthcare industry’s response to the HHS Request for Information. It solicits feedback and additional recommendations related to consumer/patient engagement and HHS’ proposed growth strategies. Results from the WEDI survey will be used to draft a comment letter to HHS.

The WEDI Accelerating Electronic Health Information Exchange RFI survey will remain open until April 12, 2013. A hyperlink to the survey is located online at: .
