WEDI Releases Blue Button Initiative Survey

October 31, 2014

The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), the nation’s leading nonprofit authority on the use of health IT to create efficiencies in healthcare information exchange, announced a survey on the patient-directed "Blue Button" initiative from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC's). "Blue Button" is a way for patients to get easy, secure online access to their health information. The survey results will be evaluated and compiled into a report for the industry.

Recognizing the success and potential of the Blue Button, in 2012, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) within the US Department of Health and Human Services took on the responsibility for taking it nationwide, in collaboration with the VA, the White House, and a host of other public and private sector leaders. Blue Button is an important component of engaging and empowering individuals and their families as partners in their health through information technology.

Providers, health plans, vendors and clearinghouses are invited to participate and can complete the survey, by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/T7RZRXJ.
