John Kelly of Edifecs Elected to WEDI Board of Directors

BELLEVUE, Wash. – November 16, 2015 – Edifecs, a global health information technology solutions company, today announced that John Kelly, principal business advisor for Edifecs, has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), the nation’s leading nonprofit authority on the use of health IT to create efficiencies in healthcare information exchange. Kelly’s term will begin January 2016.

Kelly joins an elite group of board members with executives from leading healthcare organizations including Mayo Clinic, Hewlett Packard, HIMSS, CAQH, Anthem, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield and McKesson.

“It is my passion to bring about effective cross community exchange of clinical and administrative data between the many healthcare stakeholders to improve healthcare outcomes and reduce cost,” said Kelly. “I am incredibly excited to join WEDI to use technology to achieve the greater aim of better serving patients and improving the health and wellbeing of US healthcare customers.”

John Kelly is a nationally recognized health information exchange expert. Kelly’s focus is on information exchange and applying the principles of supply chain integration to the healthcare delivery lifecycle. His wide-ranging experience includes serving as CIO of healthcare network provider NaviNet, director of eBusiness Architecture at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and managing director of his own health IT consulting firm. John also served as the architect and technical lead for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ statewide HIE project, developing a shared infrastructure for the Commonwealth, which supported both the health information and health insurance exchanges.
