WEDI Releases Industry White Paper Authored by Newly Chartered Prior Authorization Council

WEDI, the nation’s leading nonprofit authority on the use of health IT to create efficiencies in healthcare information exchange and a statutoryadvisor to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), today announced the development of an industry white paper to address the high level of administrative burden associated with obtaining prior authorization. Written by the WEDI Prior Authorization Council (PAC), the paper outlines the work being done by the council to build a cross-stakeholder view of prior authorization in the US, as well as recommendations for policy development, standardization, and gap identification including both workflow integration and automation.
