Telehealth and COVID-19

The onset of the spread of COVID-19 and the declaration of the pandemic in March 2020 has spurred the interest in implementing telehealth services. Telehealth is a viable and proven platform through which to provide health care services to patients. The ability for patients to stay in their homes to receive the services is all that more important during an infectious disease crisis in which gathering in groups and being in close proximity to others can be detrimental.

Currently, state and federal requirements tied to the delivery of telehealth services are being revised to allow for broader use and access to telehealth. Because of the changing information, this fact sheet will provide brief overviews and links to sources with the latest information.
