WEDI believes the Final Rule issued by CMS is an important step towards improving administrative transactions such as prior authorization and effective and secure data flow between patients, providers, and payers. As we have done with other federal administrative simplification initiatives, WEDI will work with CMS and industry stakeholders to bring about successful adoption of these mandates by those required to implement.

We will also be taking a leadership role by engaging with providers, vendors, and the payers not covered under this rule to establish the return on investment of these new technologies and workflows and identify an efficient implementation process in order to take full advantage of automation opportunities.

We will continue to keep our members aware of educational offerings and other updates on this important final rule.
