Dec. 2-5 event features industry experts, providing in-depth, actionable discussions focused on critical issues impacting health IT and policy
WASHINGTON, DC — November 15, 2019 — WEDI, the nation’s leading nonprofit authority on the use of health IT to create efficiencies in health care information exchange and a statutory advisor to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), today announced additional details for its 2019 WEDI Winter Conference: Connect, Communicate, Collaborate taking place Dec. 2-5 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, Va.

The event will feature many top health care and policy thought leaders including Dr. Donald Rucker, national coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) who will deliver the opening keynote; Mariann Yeager, CEO, Sequoia Project; Dr. Shawn Griffin, CEO, URAC; Dan Mendelson, Founder, Avalere; Dr. Kathryn Lueken, Associate Vice President, Humana; Ferris Taylor, Executive Director, HCEG; and many more.
The Winter Conference will kick-off with WEDI workgroup meetings held on Monday, December 2 which are open to any attendees, followed by the Privacy and Security Pre-Conference Summit hosted by WEDI’s Privacy and Security Workgroup. Some of the topics to be discussed over the course of three-and-a-half days include:

- Local HIE’s Perspective on TEFCA and Interoperability

- Surveying the National Landscape: Understanding Health Care IT Issues in Preparation for the 2020 Election
The event will conclude with the Post-Conference Summit, Transactions to Transformation, on Thursday, December 5. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how to capture patient demographics, use the HL7 FHIR server, discuss how HL7 FHIR and X12 work together and review several business use cases.
