WEDI submitted comments in response to the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics (NCVHS) June 13, 2023 Federal Register posting entitled “Request for Information (RFI) addressing the potential use of ICD–11 for morbidity coding in the U.S. ICD-11 is expected to present a significant challenge for all health care stakeholders, especially smaller, less resourced organizations. WEDI urged the government to adopt lessons learned from the ICD-10 experience and made a number of recommendations aimed at streamlining the ICD-11 implementation process.
